In the epic rewriting of the Ephemeris belli Troiani, the ruin of Achilles, prey to Polyxena’s passion and willing to betray the Achaean army for her, is attributed to his own temeritas, as we can see from the sententia of Ajax commenting on hero’s death (4, 11).
